A Link to the Past is one of the most enjoyable Zelda games to date. This is the first game to feature an in-game backstory and the Master Sword. This game set many new Zelda formulas for the future such as the 2 worlds, many new items, and three collectible items before the Master Sword.

This is the first Zelda game to have a deeper plot to it. Zelda gets vanished by the evil wizard. Link is set off to gather the 7 Crystals and save Zelda from the clutches. It features the same gameplay as Legend of Zelda did, and ditched Adventure of Link's. This made the game more popular and one of the best yet.
